Building Codes & Inspection

The City of Spring Hill Building Codes and Inspection Department provides building inspection services to assure compliance with the 2018 International Residential Code. 
  

The City of Spring Hill has adopted the 2018 Build Codes and 2018 Swimming Pool and Spa Codes by Ordinance 20-16 to become effect November 30, 2020.

NOTICE FEE INCREASE  July 1, 2022:

BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF SPRING HILL, TENNESSEE, that the following is hereby adopted. 
Amend Title 5, Chapter 6, Section 5-607 (A) (1) and (2) and (B) as follows:
Delete in its entirety Title 5, Chapter 6, Section 5-607 (A) (1) and (2) and (B) and replace same with the following in its entirety:

A)There is hereby levied a tax on each person engaged in the business of development
in the city, which tax is to be paid at the time the building permit is issued as provided in Section 5-609 of this chapter, as follows:
(1) One dollar ($1.00) per gross square foot of new residential development: and 
(2)Two dollars ($2.00) per gross square foot of new non-residential development

(B) The tax shown in subsection (A) above shall be increased by 2.5% annually to account for inflation on January 1.

(C) Provided, however, that, the total tax herein imposed shall in no event exceed One dollar ($1.00) per gross square foot for new residential development and Two dollars ($2.00) per gross square foot of new non-residential development.
2. The Ordinance shall be effective beginning July 1, 2022.
3. Any Ordinance or Resolution in conflict with Title 5, Chapter 6, Section 5-607 are hereby repealed in their entirety.
4. Phases or Sections of Subdivisions or Planned Unit Developments that received preliminaty plat and construction plan approval from the City and are under construction prior to the effective date of the effective date of this Ordinance (July 1, 2022) shall pay the Adequate Facility Tax in effect at the time construction plan approval was granted by the City of Spring Hill.

Please be sure to Email all inspections into the Codes office at Permits@Springhilltn.org 
before 2:30 P.M. the day before you need the inspection.
