The Finance Department includes the administration or oversight of the following departments and units under the direction of Tonya Travis, the City’s Finance Director:
In addition to providing effective stewardship over public funds and assets, this function of City government provides financial management leadership and legislative support to the Budget and Finance Advisory Committee, the Capital Improvement Plan, and the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
The Finance Department provides financial services for the City, including financial accounting and reporting, investment of temporarily idle funds, maintaining bank accounts, preparing payroll for municipal employees, producing paying vendors, and assisting with annual external audits
Revenue Management oversees the billings and collection of property tax, business tax, water / wastewater / storm water bills, and numerous permits.
The Purchasing office assists City departments in acquiring and disposing of supplies, materials, equipment, materials, and services needed to accomplish their jobs.
The Municipal Court provides a fair and impartial hearing for all citizens charged with a City ordinance violation, code violation, or traffic violation within the boundaries of the City of Spring Hill. The City Judge hears cases in City Court on Tuesdays at 9:00 am, but fines may be paid at any time during regular business hours (8:00 am - 4:30 pm).
